The beginning of Liverpool's world-famous waterfront built on the filled in George's Dock. The offices of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board were completed in 1907 and the Royal Liver Building built between 1908 and 1910 with its mythical Liver Birds still to be mounted on its domes. The third building in the trio, the Cunard Offices, was built during World War I and sited between the two buildings.
