This was a solitary mansion to the north of the town. It was the residence of a Dutch settler, Van Dries, and a popular public house with a fine view of the river and shipping. It stood on the east side of Waterloo Road and the south west corner of Vulcan Street and was demolished at the beginning of 1844.
