Cotton and share-brokers on exchange flags, November 1847. The foundation stone of Exchange Buildings had been laid in 1803. In January, 1854, following a heavy snowfall, a snowball fight took place between the cotton-brokers and share-brokers on Exchange Flags, behind Liverpool Town Hall.
