In the Liverpool Mercury in 1819, W.T. Robertson, a dentist of 33 Ranelagh Street, begged leave to inform the nobility, gentry and public, that he cured the most excruciating tooth-ache without causing the least pain to the patient, at the same time preserving the tooth and guaranteeing that the pain would not return!
