The practice of archery was continued up to the end of the 18th century and was held in high esteem, particularly by the upper classes in Liverpool. This lodge and archery ground was situated near the west side of Cazneau Street. By the middle of the 19th century the principal part of the archery ground had been built upon, but, although altered and used as a dwelling house and workshop, the lodge still existed.
